The Moral Case for Conservatism - with Alex Burghart MP

7pm, Tuesday 30th October 2018
“The Sedan Room”, The Two Chairmen, 39 Dartmouth Street, SW1H 9BN

“If a man is not a socialist when he is 20, he has no heart. If he is not a conservative by the time he is 40, he has no brain.” Variations of this quote has been attributed to many politicians, including Benjamin Disraeli, David Lloyd George and Winston Churchill. The left has long affected an air of moral superiority, but is this justified, and could conservatives do more to claim the moral high ground? Alex Burghart entered Parliament in 2017, succeeding Sir Eric (now Lord) Pickles as Member of Parliament for Brentwood and Ongar. Prior to this he worked as a Parliamentary Advisor for the charity Barnardo's, as Director of Policy for the Centre for Social Justice, and as an advisor in the Number 10 policy unit. Entry £10, to include buffet and a welcome drink. To buy please click the button below
